WORLD MEDITATION HOUR

18:25:00
19/07/2009 18:25 - 19:45

World Meditation Hour

Our outer world is a reflection of what lies within our collective inner worlds. By directing our thoughts in specific, positive ways, we have the potential to guide the world towards becoming a more loving place.

Whether or not you know how to meditate, you are invited to join us on the third Sunday of each month at 6:30 pm (local time wherever you are) and spend 60 minutes of your time radiating peace, love and care to our world. Everyone is welcome, so bring your friends and family.

World Meditation Hour began in 1978 when people from all over the world were invited to collectively meditate for one hour for world peace. Over the years this practice has become very popular and has spread to over 90 countries around the world, currently attracting nearly a million people. In many cities, public World Meditation Hour programmes are held (enhanced by music and commentaries to help guide your thoughts).

Retreat...Learn Meditation

22:00:00
24/07/2009 - 26/07/2009 22:00

Since 1993, the Global Retreat Centre has welcomed thousands of people from across the world. The Centre offers residential and one-day retreats, as well as lectures, seminars and courses on meditation, personal growth and spiritual development.

Since 1993, the Global Retreat Centre at Nuneham House (administered by the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University UK) as a service to the community, charges no fees for any of its activities. It is funded by voluntary contributions.GRC has welcomed thousands of people from across the world. They come to restore balance and focus to their life through solitude, silence and the study of spiritual values. Tucked away in the rolling countryside of Oxfordshire, surrounded by 55 acres of historical gardens and overlooking the river Thames, Nuneham Park is the perfect location to step away from the frantic pace of modern living, and to rediscover your inner peace and power.

All the retreats are led by experienced facilitators. They give their time freely, to help others see the inner changes which are necessary to cultivate a deeper contentment and a greater joy, in an often chaotic world. Each retreat is an opportunity to explore the deepest insights into the true nature of our being, review the purpose of our life and learn practical methods to sustain calm and clarity in everyday living. Both the one-day and residential meditation retreats provide experienced guidance in meditation, whilst the retreats for specific professional groups are sensitively designed to explore the application of spiritual values in the workplace.

"Thank you for a wonderful weekend, this is my first retreat so didn’t know what to expect, but what a fantastic experience, meeting lots of lovely warm people.  I feel like I’ve learned lots this weekend."

Emma Relph

"Thank you so much for all your efforts on our behalf, it is so much appreciated.  I have thoroughly enjoyed my first Retreat and will certainly be back for more.   It has left me with a lot to think about and a lot of action also to do.  The event was so friendly and welcoming as going on my own not knowing anyone else there was a real concern for me and I was so pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of everyone attending.  It was definitely an experience I would recommend to anyone especially if you are coming on your own.  I look forward to meeting up with everyone at the next retreat and also new faces.

Thank you again for all your efforts from the organisers and the speakers etc who gave their time to this event."
