Global Co-operation House is the London home of the Brahma Kumaris, serving as its national co-ordinating office. After moving from humble beginnings in two damp small rooms in Kilburn, to larger dwellings in Willesden and a community centre in Neasden, finally the BKWSU UK was able to achieve a purpose built facility, completed in 1991. This enabled us to develop a wide range of activities to bring spirituality and Raja Yoga meditation to various sectors of the community. The house has become a familiar landmark in the area, offering a place of calm in a hectic world.
Due to ever expanding activities, Diamond House was added in 2003 extending the conference and teaching facilities. The public is welcome to daily events and courses as well as special events. These have included: the launch of the Year of Inter-religious Understanding and Co-operation; National Conference - Living Values : Empowering Young People in the 21st Century; The Caribbean Experience – cultural event supporting the Caribbean Community; A celebration of Human Dignity in Prison in support of national prisoners week (a Christian Ecumenical initiative).
“Having visited Global Co-operation House on a number of occasions, I am well aware of the valuable work that is being undertaken at the BKWSU to develop multi-cultural, multi-faith initiatives to benefit the community to work together in a spirit of peaceful understanding”
- Ken Livingstone, FormerMayor of London
“The inspiration for the building came from God and the vision was realised with the love and co-operation of the entire global family. It is a place where characters will be built as the foundation for a future elevated world”
- Dadi Janki, Administrative Head, Brahma Kumaris
“People have started to question the purpose of values in society today. Recognising that we are spiritual beings, currently acting in a physical body, is an important insight. It removes the divisions of race, creed and gender. I hope that the Diamond House addition to Global Co-operation House will provide an added opportunity to raise the consciousness of more people.
- David Hemery, First President UK Athletics
