The Brahma Kumaris’ first centre in the UK was opened in 1971 in London, with additional activities in Leicester, Ilford and Edinburgh. Today there are activities throughout the UK.
In 1991, Global Co-operation House, in London, opened as the UK’s National Co-ordinating Office for the Brahma Kumaris.
The Global Retreat Centre, in Oxfordshire, opened its doors in 1993 and has since welcomed thousands of people from a variety of backgrounds and professions from across the world who come to restore balance and focus to their lives through solitude, silence and the study of spiritual values. The Global Retreat Centre offers one day and residential retreats that are led by experienced facilitators and teachers of meditation. Interwoven with the retreats is a variety of courses, seminars and lectures.
Today, the Inner Spaces in Covent Garden, Wembley, Cambridge and Romford have added to the Brahma Kumaris’ vision of bringing an experience of peace and tranquillity to businesses and local communities in the heart of the city.
